I want to spread the word that most insurance companies will completely cover the cost of hypoallergenic formula, either by reimbursing you what you've spent on it, or if you get it as a prescription through your pediatrician.Many doctors don't know this, so they don't know to give a prescription for the formula. I licked my hand when i spilled it once and it was not nearly as bad as you would think due to the smell. Yes it is extremely expensive, but you know what? It WORKS! When you are up nightly due to a screaming unhappy child, or worse, when you see your child suffering with an allergic reaction or blood in their stool or other awful side effects of a milk allergy or intolerance you are willing to pay any amount of money to make sure your baby is happy and to in turn get some sleep as well. This stuff works, and it is much cheaper then the next option of of Neocate or other amino acid based formulas. Even if your child doesnt have a diagnosed milk allergy, but is extra gassy, colicky, or constipated, give this a try.
